Over 100 dogs were rescued from a hoarding situation in Mississippi.
49 horses, mules, and donkeys were rescued due to poor health and signs of neglect in West Virginia.
Suspect was charged with 17 counts of animal fighting and one count of possessing equipment used for animal fighting, third degree felonys in Florida. These charges carry a penalty of up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
The rescue comes after HSUS conducted an in-depth undercover investigation and submitted legal complaints to the state documenting serious animal welfare issues as well as public safety concerns at the Collins Zoo. The MDWFP seized three tigers, three cougars, two leopards, two wolf-hybrids and one Macaque monkey from the Collins,
A number of animal welfare organization assisted in the seizure of more than 100 parrots from “Wings Over the Rainbow” in Moraine, Ohio. WingsWhen responders arrived on scene they found approximately 100 parrots, amazons, cockatoos, macaws, cockatiels and Quaker parrots living in filthy, cramped conditions. Many were suffering from, malnutrition, dehydration, mental distress and zoonotic diseases.The Humane Society of the United States’ Animal Rescue Team and other animal welfare organizations were called in by The Humane Society of Greater Dayton to assist in the seizure of more than 100 parrots from “Wings Over the Rainbow” in Moraine, Ohio. Wings Over the Rainbow promotes itself as a bird sanctuary, but officials found the birds housed in deplorable conditions. The birds will now be cared for at an emergency shelter.The Humane Society of Greater Dayton became concerned about this facility after receiving numerous complaints from local citizens about the condition of the birds housed there. When responders arrived on scene they found approximately 100 parrots, amazons, cockatoos, macaws, cockatiels and Quaker parrots living in filthy, cramped conditions. Many were suffering from, malnutrition, dehydration, mental distress and zoonotic diseases.

The HSUS and Greenville County Sheriff's Office raided one of the biggest cockfighting rings in South Carolina.
The SPCA Wildlife Care Center rescues, rehabilitates, and releases native wildlife who has been harmed or displaced. The center also treats and places certain needy domestic, exotic and farm animals.After a concerned citizen notified the center, ambulance drive Jacquelyn Johnston navigated a kayak to rescue this injured great blue heron.

The Fund for Animals Wildlife Center is an oasis in Ramona, Calif., where we treat injured and orphaned wildlife with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. We also care for nearly 40 full-time residents rescued from the exotic pet trade and other acts of cruelty.
The Humane Society of the United States Animal Rescue Team assisted the Kalamazoo County Animal Services and Enforcement in a dogfighting investigation and raid in Kalamazoo, Mich., resulting in an arrest of a suspected dogfighter and the seizure of 32 dogs. The dogs have scarring consistent with dogfighting. Suspected dogfighting paraphernalia was also found on the property.
